Restaurant website design that fills tables

Crawlable menus, reservations, delivery integrations and Google Maps visibility. Built for restaurants in London, the Gulf and Pakistan. From $1,800.

The biggest SEO mistake restaurants make is putting the menu in a PDF. Search engines cannot read it as text, so every dish name — the exact phrases people search — becomes invisible. Rebuilding the menu as HTML pages turns one document into dozens of entry points.

We run the website for an Italian restaurant on Bow Street in Covent Garden, directly beside the Royal Opera House. It is one of the most competitive restaurant postcodes in Britain, and the job was never to make something pretty. It was to be the result somebody taps when a show finishes and they are deciding where to eat.

Restaurants get found through dish names, occasions and dietary needs. Truffle tagliatelle. Pre-theatre set menu. Halal steakhouse. Gluten free pasta. Every one of those phrases lives on your menu, and a well-built restaurant site makes each of them findable.

What we fix

  • 1The menu is a PDF or an imageSearch engines cannot index it as text. Dish names, prices and dietary options simply do not exist. We rebuild the menu as one page per section with structured data.
  • 2Photos weigh four megabytes eachFood photography is the point of a restaurant site and it is also why most of them are unusable on mobile data. Compressed, resized and served in modern formats.
  • 3Opening hours are wrong or missingWhether you are open at the moment of the search affects whether you appear at all. Holiday hours set in advance, not the morning after.
  • 4The booking widget loses peopleEvery extra step costs covers. We test the booking flow on a real phone, on mobile data, at the hour people actually book.
  • 5Dietary options are not searchableVegan, halal, gluten free and vegetarian are high-intent searches almost nobody optimises for. Tagged, structured and given their own pages.
  • 6Reviews stopped two years agoRecency matters more than volume for restaurants. A compliant request flow that runs on its own, never incentivised.

Not sure whether you need a rebuild? Roughly half the sites we look at need speed work, a working form and a corrected Google profile rather than a new site. The free consultation will tell you which you are, even when the honest answer costs us the bigger job.

Common questions

How much does a restaurant website cost?

A restaurant site with a properly structured menu starts at $1,800 and takes four to six weeks. Sites with reservations, multiple locations or delivery integrations start around $3,500.

Is a PDF menu bad for SEO?

Yes. A PDF or image menu cannot be indexed the way a web page can, so dish names, prices and dietary options are effectively invisible to search engines. Rebuilding it as HTML pages makes each section findable.

How do I get my restaurant on Google Maps?

Set the most specific primary category, keep opening hours accurate including holidays, complete every profile field, and build a steady flow of recent reviews. Category accuracy is the fastest single improvement.
